I think people honestly like reading about celebrities and weird news stories. With celebrities, I think that people can look at them and can say wow their problems are really minor in the grand scheme of real life or they can say that happened to me to, its not so bad. It can also be a comfort in that maybe you see someone like Paris Hilton getting into some kind of trouble and you think, man if I had the kind of money and fame she does, I wouldn’t be doing the same kinds of stupid things and it in a way makes you feel even better about yourself. Escape from one’s own reality and drama and to look at other people’s drama and see how everything plays out for them I think is another big reason why people read about celebrities. I also think this is why reality TV has been very successful and a lot of the time stars off of those shows end up becoming celebrities, some for more than 15 minutes.
Weird news stories I feel are a different animal. Reading about strange news stories is actually just kind of interesting. Hearing for example about maybe a snake getting into someone’s toilet is something you don’t hear about everyday, and that adds some extra appeal to it. It also can make you laugh which a lot of the time most news stories won’t do. When reading about some strange news stories also, you kind of think its so out there that it has to be true, you can’t make that kind of thing up.

Grammar
Sticklers For English
I think the image that I got of people who are really into grammar and making sure everyone was speaking correct English was the same that I bet a lot of people have. I get this image of a grumpy, angry very old person. It could be either male or female.
If its a male they have the bifocal lenses hanging from one of those chain necklaces, pushed down on the bridge of their nose. They have to be wearing a sweater vest and khaki pants. If its a female, I still have the same image concerning the glasses. They're very conservative, wearing a long dress and their hair is tied up on the back of their head in a bun or something to that effect.
I also get the image of Mr. Feeny from Boy Meets World (if you've never seen it, not the worst way to kill a half an hour) He was also the real dignified, smart kind of person who looking at you would figure grammar would really mean a lot to especially being a teacher. He also goes back to the whole sweater vest, glasses type of image I got as well.
Another image that i get is Ross from the show Friends (again not the worst way to kill a half an hour watching a TV show) Ross is a paleontologist in the show, so you can tell he is extremely smart, and would always correct people's grammar and pronunciation of words.
So if you ask the question what I think of when you say stickler for grammar, those are the kind of images that flash in my head.

Websites I Visit
Websites I Look At
I find that everyday I usually look at the same websites and nothing really that new unless I have to. I don't really know why but thats just how it happens. I always go to yahoo.com everyday. Most of the time I will go on it because a) its my browser's start page and I usually check news of the day on it or and mainly b) because I play fantasy sports for just about every sport they offer and i check and see how my teams are doing every day and whether I have to make adjustments to those teams because players are injured or just not performing the way they should and need to be replaced. http://www.yahoo.com/
I also go to either espn.com or foxsports.com or both everyday as well for my sports information. I also read the rumors from around sports to see for example which players may be going from one team to another one. I also read the articles written by the writers about things that are going on as well. http://espn.go.com/ http://msn.foxsports.com/
MTV.com is another site I find myself frequently looking at. Its good for news on artists for things like who has a new single out, when certain artists albums are coming out and things of that nature. Another good site like this is alternativeaddiction.com which does the same thing that MTV does except the only cover rock. They also showcase unsigned artists who for the most part are pretty good in my opinion. http://www.mtv.com/ http://alternativeaddiction.com/
There are other websites that I look at a lot but those I feel are the main ones.
