Yankees

After a month and a game, the Yankees are in last place in the American League East. I am a little bit shocked by that but not that much. The only two people that have really done a lot are A-Rod and Andy Pettite. There's been a rash of injuries especially to their pitching. Chien-Mien Wang hurt his hamstring, Phil Hughes just hurt his, Mike Mussina hurt his hamstring. Unless your blind, your starting to sense a trend here with hamstrings. That's why their strength and conditioning coach got fired yesterday and rightfully so. One time is a fluke, two times is a little odd, but three times suggests a trend especially when it deals with the best pitching prospect in the game in Phil Hughes. I'm not biased by saying that, every scout says that about him too.

The Yankees real hope is that Roger Clemens later in the month, probably on the 22nd, since he's a little obsessed with the number, says I'm coming back to the game and signs with the Yankees. If I'm George Steinbrenner, I give him the sun, moon, and the stars to pitch on this team. I'm sure General George is thinking the same thing. He's also probably getting really upset because they haven't won a World Series since 2000 and haven't been to the Fall Classic since 2003. I'm sure the Yankees will snap out of it and eventually step up and end up in first place. If they don't I'm sure heads will roll and it will be a crazy off-season in New York.
